昨日早朝、仏教寺院が放火されたとカグラチョリ県市民社会委員会およびUPDFがそれぞれプレス・リリースで伝えた。同県モハルチョリ郡マイシュチョリ255番にあるオロンノ・クティール仏教寺院がある集団に火を付けられたと彼らは主張した。両組織は事件を憂慮すると伝え、犯人を処罰するよう政府に求めた。オロンノ・クティール寺院はジョイナル・アベディンというベンガル人入植者が所有権を主張する土地に建設されていた。6月10日にはモハルチョリ郡行政官が、土地に関する決定が下るまでは行動を控えるよう入植者と先住民族の両方に訴えていた。県行政からは事件に関するコメントはなかった。

'Buddha Bihar set on fire in Khagrachhari'

A Buddha Bihar was set on fire in the early morning of yesterday, said Zila Nagorik Committee and United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) in separate press releases.
They alleged that a group of people set fire to the Aranya Kuthir (Buddha Bihar) at 255 No Maischhari under Mohalchhari upazila in the district.
Nagorik Committee and UPDF expressed concern over the matter and demanded punishment to the culprits.
Aranya Kuthir was built on a disputed land as a Bangalee settler Joynal Abedin claimed the ownership of the land.
On June 10, Mohalchhari UNO urged both sides not to take any move till a final decision is made.
No comment was found from the district administration about the incident.
